About Stockton & Thornaby Canoe Club

We’re a voluntary run charity, affiliated to British Canoeing, promoting white water, touring, sea kayaking, and general leisure paddling. We’re based at the Tees Barrage International White Water Centre and we operate coached session there throughout the summer. We also help members progress with pool rolling sessions and led/coached paddles in the winter. We're 20 years old and have a membership of around 150 paddlers from around the North East. Our boatstore located next to the Tees Barrage houses a large fleet of whitewater kayaks, sea kayaks, and other accessible sit-on-tops. Kit can be hired by our members for taking part in personal and club activity.

Membership

We accept membership from experienced paddlers or through any of our introductory courses.

Club Activity

Offering lessons, led/coached trips, trip co-ordination of peer paddles, in all our paddling disciplines.

Our Location

We meet most Wednesdays at our boat store at the Tees Barrage International White Water Centre (TS18 2QW).

Our Management Committee

You can email some of our team directly, click on the envelope icon next to their name to email them. Our committee is made up of trustees of our charity and club officials. As they are all volunteers, they may take a day or two to get back to you. We're on the lookout to fill the following roles: treasurer, boat store manager; email the chairman if you'd like to help out. Our Facilities

Stockton & Thornaby Canoe Club's facilities are based at the Tees Barrage International White Water Centre. This gives us access to changing rooms, cafe, and ample car parking. The club also has a majority share of the boat store building with two other clubs, Cleveland Canoe Club & Cleveland Tigers. Our management team ensures that all equipment has a six monthly pre-season check and an Annual end of season service with the updating of equipment as required to guarantee safe paddling.
